Showing Up in 2022 - Why I want to help you

I’ve ran a couple of 6-week programmes before and although I loved it, I have always felt there was something missing.

I wanted to help more, get into people’s heads, really make you realise how capable you are.

Working towards a health or fitness goal is amazing but it’s just scratching the surface.

Everything we do starts with how we feel about ourselves.

It starts with our mindset and our self-worth.

If this isn’t in check, if we don’t have the right support system around us this can quickly crumble.

I want to be that support system.

I want to help build a community of powerful, creative, like-minded women who want to better themselves. Who want to do better, to put the effort in, to show up and become the best version of themselves – all while rooting for those around them and wanting them to do the same.

That’s where ‘Showing Up with Maria’ came from.

I am lucky.

I am surrounded by incredible women.

Women working in all industries, of different ages and backgrounds, but with one thing in common.

That if you put your mind to it, if you commit, you can make it happen.

And there’s enough to go around.

We don’t have to fight each other for those wins.

We can all win.

It got me thinking.

About those people that don’t have that sense of community.

That don’t have those people around them who keep them going when self-doubt creeps in.

Without these women I wouldn’t have survived 2021.

Heart break and infidelity ripped my world apart this year and although I survived it, I have the bruises, cuts, and scars to show for it.

(As well as a new address in a different country, hundreds of pages in my journal full of the same questions over and over – ‘what the f**k am I doing? Where am I going? How am I going to do this?’ And a rather large therapy bill I try not to think about.)

Love saved me, community saved me, strong, compassionate, and kind women saved me.

My biggest lesson in 2021?

I’ve sat with this for a long time, there have been many.

But something that stands out is that no matter what’s happening around me, helping others brings me joy.

We need each other.

It’s the only thing that really matters.

How you treat people, how you help.

So how can I help more?

I am a coach.

A personal trainer.

A nutritionist.

There are thousands of us.

But my coaching is different, because I am the only one who does it how I do.

All these programmes are similar.

You get workouts, nutrition targets etc but what’s important is your relationship with your coach.

Its that connection that determines whether you succeed or not.

That sense of knowing you have someone you can trust, who has your back and is willing to hold space for you and offer guidance while you work towards your goals.

It’s not just about the weight you lose or how heavy you lift in the gym.

Its about gaining that confidence.

Its about tapping into your potential and realizing ‘shit, I’ve been living so small, I can do anything I want to do.’

I want to be the person that helps you hear that voice.

I want you to finally reach that goal you’ve had.

To fit into that dress, to wear the clothes you’ve always wanted but never quite felt confident enough to, to walk into the gym and know what you’re doing and to do it with style because you are a bad ass.

To do it all without hating yourself, without restricting, without being consumed with thinking about food or what you can’t have.

Because you can have it all.

You are worthy of it all.

So, if you want some generic workouts and a meal plan this isn’t the programme for you.

But if you want to try something new, with a coach who cares, who will challenge you, call you out on your bullshit and support you while you figure yourself out and become the strongest and most powerful version of yourself, then yes, I want to work with you.

We start Monday 3rd January.

If you want to work with me, message and let’s chat and see if we are the right fit.

I can’t wait to support you and watch you thrive in 2022.

You deserve it.

I posted a reel this week that over 15,000 people watched. It was me taking a bite of my first ever Five Guys cheese burger. And although for some, I appreciate watching others smash a giant burger in
